Gdansk Builds a Broader Adapted Judo Community

Gdansk hosts the third edition of its adapted judo event, continuing a journey that has been part of the Get Together Tour since its launch in 2024. The gathering reflects a growing international community in which athletes, coaches, clubs and national teams are helping shape something that reaches beyond competition.

Adapted judo has expanded quickly in recent months. EJU Adapted Judo Commissioners have travelled as far as Australia to lead seminars and share knowledge, while the Lausanne Grand Slam in Switzerland marked another important step in August with the first inclusive IJF World Tour event.

The movement now returns to Gdansk with an even wider group involved. Armenia joins the Get Together family for the first time, adding a new nation to the event’s developing international picture.

Spain arrives with a strong contingent, while Portugal has significantly increased its presence compared with 2025. These growing delegations underline how more teams are finding their place on the tatami through adapted judo.

Georgia’s return is another sign of that progress. The Georgian team experienced the Get Together Tour in Houlgate in December 2025 and is now back in Gdansk, carrying the confidence of a nation becoming an increasingly familiar part of the community.

Every new team in Gdansk adds momentum to adapted judo’s international growth.

For Gdansk, this third edition is not simply a repeat of previous events. It is another opportunity to bring together a wider range of people and nations around judo, inclusion and shared development.
